We live amongst a generation full of criticism, castigation and condemnations against believers who exhibit some form of weakness as though they are aliens from Mars or Jupiter. The truth untold is that believers are in a world governed and controlled by several forces capable of truncating her continuity in the faith. We live in a world where the fiery darts of temptation pierces through our earth composed skin at all times and we are prone to decomposition when cuaght in the snares. The only possibility of overcoming is taking heed to the words of Christ in the gospel of John 15:5 ” I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abides in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit; for without me ye can do nothing. Those words underlined are very significant to overcoming the times we live in at present. You see the way we have patterned discipline in the gathering of believers cannot work out godly sorrow unto genuine repentance, but rather cause those who should be standing inspite of their weaknesses to even fall off the faith or at worst become suicidal because they are unable to recover from the stigma. Just as the people in ‘John 8’ brought the woman caught in the very act of adultery to Jesus for instant judgement, There’s so much public scrutiny, character defamation and spiritual jungle justice going on and its high time the church woke up from her deep slumber. If beloved brothers and sisters are sent packing because of their weakness, how are they expected to get rid of those weaknesses? The church was created to be a spiritual hospital were those who come are treated and made healthy of every disease that had threatened their spiritual survival. Sincerely whoever is without sin let him cast the first stone (John 8:7) or forever be able to correct in love.
For those who have been nailed to the cross of shame and ridiculed by their weaknesses, i write this to you. When the shame comes aloud and the accuser of the brethren through the mouth of your beloved tends to put you into scrutiny and mockery, this should be your response, ” My weakness not Yours” for God is aware. You see, John 15:5 tells us that without our Lord we can do nothing. You might be trying to overcome a particular habit through which the spiritual jailer has held you bounds for so long a time now, or you might have fallen victim of what you preach and you are at the verge of ending it all. Killing yourself is never a remedy but the tragedy of your eternal fate. You see salvation was at the door post of Judas Iscariot but he chose to hang himself instead, however Peter continued steadfastly and waxed strong in faith even after the denial. Jesus wants you to know He is right there with you even in the midst of the storm. The three Hebrew boys were thrown into a burning fiery furnace in Daniel 3, but Jesus was right there in the midst of the fire and His holy presence produced a cooling effect and the three Hebrew boys were saved. By virtue of their deliverance salvation came to the household of many in Babylon. Jesus is with you right there and His holy presence is going to set you free forever. 2 Corinthians 12:9, If you have the Spirit of God residing within you then God is present in you and as such your deliverance is sure. All you have to do is confess to Him that you’ve tried all you can and your weakness is still obvious, tell him to give you strength through His grace so that every weakness will be silenced and eliminated.
I will like you to know that as a believer your weakness is between you and Christ and the strength He provides is also as a result of your consistent relationship with Him. Ephesians 5:31-32
The relationship between Christ and the church is similar to that between the husband and his wife. We are the church and each of us are supposed to build an intimate relationship with Him. In a marriage the husband has come to terms with the weakness of the wife and as such provides himself as the strength to compensating for her weaknesses. This is how Christ provides himself as the strength to compensating our weaknesses if we have truly become one with Him. When Christ is our strength we begin to bear fruit and this fruit is the antidote to every works of the flesh. I don’t know who you’ve been talking to about your weaknesses and imperfections but I feel it’s high time you talked to Christ about it. Humans will fail many times in their recommendations and judgements but Jesus never fails. After you’ve talked to the Lord about it, you can discuss with a believing friend who is matured enough to agree with you in faith, prayer and godly counsel.
Jesus got your back.
If you’ve not yet allowed Jesus into your life please do because without Him life has no meaning. Confess Him as your Lord and Saviour today and be saved. Romans 10:9-11: T
My prayer for you my friend is that you find grace to finish strong in Jesus name (Amen).
